Marie Mitchell

A graduate of both the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) and the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business in University College Dublin, Marie combines both operational experience in the hotel sector with an in-depth understanding of technology, sales and marketing. Having worked with Great Southern Hotels after graduation, she re-joined Dublin Institute of Technology as Manager of the Hospitality Technology Research Centre, a European Union funded unit focused on helping Irish hotel managers make better use of information technology. She subsequently worked with telecommunications giant Ericsson as Account Manager for South East Asia and then as Marketing & Sales Manager for the International Ericsson Training Centre in Dublin. In these roles Marie developed strong sales management and business development skills.

A clearly focused and developed individual with excellent business acumen, Marie is a possessor of exceptionally strong expertise across business sectors such as, Telecommunications, IT and Hospitality. Being a results focused individual, Marie has proven her ability, in having achieved exceptional results in marketing and sales while working in a multinational organization. Marie is Vastly experienced in the management of a global sales team and the achievement of high sales targets, as well as being practiced in large scale travel assignments together with working and communicating in multi-cultural environments. Awarded MBS (Management Information Systems) from the Michael Smurfit Business School Dublin in 1995, Marie has spent the past 5 years bringing this experience to the SME sector in the launch of David Butt & Associates Limited. Marie has delivered winning marketing and research initiatives for such organizations as regional tourism organsiations, community led initiatives and emerging software companies. In addition, Marie has a clear knowledge of the funding environment having achieved extensive funding for her own company.
